🚗📵 This Surprised Me When I Finally Stopped Texting and Driving

I stopped texting and driving

I Reduced My Texting and Driving by 90 Percent and Not for the Reason You Think 🚗📵
Most people assume the main reason someone stops texting and driving is safety. And yes, that matters. But that is not what finally made it click for me.

One of the biggest motivators was realizing the influence I have on my girlfriend’s son. I want to model the habits I hope he grows up with.
But the unexpected benefit is what shocked me. I have more energy now, a lot more. ⚡️

When I dug into why, it made sense. Texting and driving forces your brain to switch tasks hundreds of times a minute. Eyes to road. Eyes to phone. Back to road. Back to phone. Over and over.

I used to brag about how good I was at it. The truth is, it was exhausting. It drains your focus, your decision making, and your mental energy long before you even reach your destination. And multitasking is a myth. 🧠💤

Now when I drive, I feel calmer. My body is more relaxed. I arrive with more energy instead of less. 😌
I still listen to music, make calls, or play a podcast. And sure, sometimes I feel that itch to reply because the habit is still there. It is so easy to text and drive. But every time I resist the urge, I know I am rewiring my brain a tiny bit at a time. 🔁💪

These days I use voice to text much more. In fact, I wrote this article while driving using voice to text, and later edited it because Siri still has her moments. 😂

This small change has made a big difference.
