Most People Quit Right Before the Flip
Oct 06, 2026
I used to hide the fact that I wear a speedo. Not just at the pool or the beach, snowboarding too. I've shown up in a speedo on the slopes and watched people do a double take.
But for a long time I was terrified to let the investing world know. I was sure I'd be made fun of, so I hid it.
Then I told one person... No negative feedback... So I told another, still fine. I started feeling lighter each time.
Then I had a setback, seller at closing asked about my speedo and I froze. And for a second I almost went back to hiding it.
But I didn't, I kept going. And now it's part of my brand, part of my marketing, part of who I am when I show up. Instead of the feeling of judgment I used to brace for, now I feel joy. And a lot of laughter. 😂
That's the whole game right there.
🏋️ The Pain-to-Pleasure Flip
When you first start working out, it hurts. The muscles are sore, it's uncomfortable, and your brain starts associating movement with pain. But at some point something flips.
You finish a workout and you feel incredible, and now your brain starts associating it with pleasure. You actually want to go back.
That's true for everything. Starting a business, making your first offer, getting on camera, telling the investing world you wear a speedo to the pool and the ski slope.
It's hard at first because you're still in the pain phase, you haven't gotten to the reward yet, and most people quit right before the flip happens.
🤝 You Don't Have to White Knuckle It Alone
And here's what makes the difference, having the right people around you when you're in the pain phase. A workout partner helps you show up when you don't want to, and a coaching group helps you push through when the discomfort is telling you to stop.
You don't have to white knuckle it alone.
