Are You Hustling Too Long? ⏳
Aug 13, 2025
💬 “Adrian… when you’re building your business, how long do you have to grind and hustle?”
That’s what a student asked me on a recent coaching call.
It hit me hard, because I’ve been in that exact season before, and I know most investors get stuck there longer than they should.
Here’s the truth…
I believe for long term success and satisfaction you need a period of grinding and hustling. Most of us don’t start with a huge pile of money, so we are building our business while working for someone else and still having a personal life. That means long days and some sacrifices.
When I was in building mode, I sacrificed sleep, late nights with friends, spending on non essentials, and occasionally time with loved ones. Business usually takes either time or money, often both.
Now, I still talk about putting life first, and that is easier for me to say now that I have created more space in my life. In growth mode, it is harder. I am not telling you to neglect your family and friends, but there are times you need to put in the extra hours to earn long term freedom.
For example: recently I had multiple 12+ hour days of business. I was drained when my head hit the pillow, but I chose those days because the following days I was backpacking to camp at a mountain top lake, no cell reception, no business. Totally worth it. And during those long days, I still practiced my morning routine, took a recharging lunch, and practiced yoga midday because those keep my focus and productivity high.
Ask yourself: What are you willing to prioritize now to get the freedom you want later? 🌄
Some quick time hacks:
-
Time block and focus on one thing at a time
-
Stack important tasks, like taking a walk while on an important call
-
Start your day intentionally, here is my article on morning routines
-
Focus on the 20% that will bring in income and move the needle most
I would love to hear your thoughts. Just message me and let me know where you are in your hustle season. I read every response.
Adrian's Takeaway: A season of hustle is fine, just make sure it's a season and not your permanent address.
